Rebounder / Mini Trampoline

Health benefits:

Rebounding stimulates the lymphatic system to move lymph throughout the body.  Lymph is a fluid in the lymphatic system that travels through the network of lymphatic system vessels picking up toxins and microbes collected in the lymph nodes for transport out of the body.  The lymphatic vessels do not have a pump as does the circulatory system and thus relies on muscle contractions to stimulate valves to open and close to move the lymph through the lymphatic vessels.  Lymph can remain static and become “sludgy” trapping toxins within the body.  It is common to primarily think about physical activity and exercise to burn calories or improve cardiovascular functioning; however, I would argue moving lymph throughout the lymphatic system to rid the body of toxicity and pathogens is one of the most important health benefits of exercise.  NASA has also used rebounding as a way to keep astronauts fit for duty!

How I use it:

My goal is to rebound at least 10 minutes every morning (optimally I would prefer 20 minutes daily!).  I choose to rebound in the morning as there is cellular waste build up that occurs during sleep to repair and maintain the body and morning rebounding can boost the body’s ability to detox that waste. For mornings when I’m running behind, I coach myself “C’mon girl, you can squeeze in 10 minutes for just about anything!  No excuses!” I keep my rebounder in a corner of my garage with a TV so I can watch my two favorite rebounding influencers (Naomi Joy Fitness and SanFran Fitness) and follow along with their rebounding videos.  Each have dozens of videos from 10 minutes to an hour.  There are beginner, intermediate and advanced workouts.   This is one of my absolute favorite health hacks…I always feel energized and ready to tackle the day after completing a routine!  I forgot to mention the best part….rebounding is super fun!

How I found it:

One of my clients at the gym introduced me to the Bellicon Rebounder.  She always had the Bugatti version of the products she liked!  And the Bellicon rebounder was no exception! She had an extra Bellicon she no longer used that she let me try out.  I fell in love with it, got a second one so I could have one in the gym as well as my home, and I’ve been rebounding ever since! I have also heard good reviews for the JumpSport rebounder as well as the Leaps and Rebounds rebounder, although I’ve never tried them myself.  Hopefully you’ll find the right fit for you!

Why I use it:

Rebounding is such a time efficient and FUN workout!  I think it is a great complement to the SuperSlow weight training I do at the gym.  I also feel like it is such a great way to get my day started off on the right track!  I always feel energized and ready to go after even a 10 minute rebounding workout!
